How Does Bio-Mat Infrared Ionic Therapy Work?

This is an amazing therapy that uses a device called an Amethyst Bio-Mat.  It is made with 17 layers of space-age materials, combines far infrared (FIR) light and negative ion technology with the healing power of amethyst.  It is a FDA registered medical device, and many insurance companies consider it a viable treatment option for pain as well as other musculoskeletal problems.  Among the many therapeutic benefits it provides, Bio-Mat Infrared Ionic Therapy can:

When you come in for Bio-Mat Infrared Ionic Therapy, you will be given a choice of heat settings depending on your goal.

• Green - This is a broad spectrum, low heat setting that is great for sensitive clients and for long-term, extended use.  It is used for general overall healthcare, immune stimulation, boosts energy, relieves headaches, indigestion, and jet lag, and provides regenerative sleep.  This setting can be used for up to 12 hours at a time.

• Low Gold - This is a dynamic warmth between 113º - 122ºF.  It is used for athletes, flexibility training, cardiovascular support, blood pressure, and sugar regulation.  It is safe to be used in up to 2+ hour cycles.

• High Gold - This setting is a deep penetrating heat between 131º - 140ºF.  It is used to relieve joint pain, reduce stress and trauma, promote relaxation, and elevate mood.  It is safe for up to 90 minute sessions.

• Red - This is the deep heat and therapeutic power session where the heat is between 149º - 158ºF.  It promotes detoxification, weight loss, improves skin tone, stimulates metabolism, and improves blood circulation.  This range is similar to an infrared sauna and no more than 30 – 45 minutes per session is recommended.

You may choose to remain fully dressed or undress to your comfort level.  A protective sheet/blanket will be provided.  During a RED session, you will become hot and possibly sweaty so removing clothing may be advised.  Relaxing music will assist you in unwinding and enjoying the benefits of the mat.  You may also ask to have your choice of aromatherapy oils added to any session to further aide healing.
