I have become quite obsessed with Dr. Oz of late, and today’s episode hit me hard. It was on Ovarian Cancer. I have more family members and close friends who have either battled or died from cancer than I care to remember. So, when he offered a checklist of symptoms to look for in diagnosing Ovarian Cancer, I had to share it with all of you.
If you have more than two of the symptoms listed on this sheet, please see your doctor right away. Print off this checklist and take it to him. According to Dr. Oz, many doctors do not understand the symptoms so be an advocate for your own health. If you feel strongly that you might have it, then insist on getting a vaginal ultrasound done. The important thing to remember is that doctors are not omniscent. Many symptoms can be any number of diseases and issues and misdiagnosis is common, this is why family history is so important. Help your doctor to help you. Here is the checklist:
